Loeb assure, Neuville impressionne

  • Le Français Sébastien Loeb (Citroën DS3 WRC) occupe la tête du Rallye de Finlande, 8ème épreuve du championnat WRC, au terme de la première journée de l'épreuve. Notre compatriote Thierry Neuville (Citroën DS3 WRC) occupe de son côté une excellente 5ème position au classement, à... 1.7 seconde de la 2ème place.

    Après avoir réalisé le 3ème temps de la 1ère spéciale (Koukunmaa - 13.68 km) à 2.1 secondes de Sébastien Loeb, Thierry Neuville a à nouveau signé un très bon chrono dans la SS2 (Jokimaa - 2 km), se classant à la 4ème place à 0.6 seconde de l'auteur du scratch, Petter Solberg (Ford Fiesta WRC).

    Dans la 3ème et dernière spéciale de la journée (Mynnila - 14.22 km), le germanophone s'est adjugé le 5ème temps, à 6.4 secondes de Sébastien Loeb, autoritaire leader du rallye.

    C'est la première fois que le pilote du RACB National Team participe au Rallye de Finlande, épreuve mythique du Championnat WRC. Pour se préparer au terrain très spécifique de l'ancien "Rallye des 1000 Lacs", le Saint-Vithois a pris part au Rallye d'Estonie qu'il a terminé à la 2ème place, derrière le Norvégien Mads Östberg.

    WRC Finlande : Le jeudi de Loeb et Neuville

    Last year's winners in the country of a thousand lakes, Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena were certainly not taking it easy on the first leg of Rally Finland. After winning two of the first three stages, the eight-time World Champions already top the overall standings, 7.3s ahead of their team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen. With less than ten seconds between the top six crews, the rest of the rally promises to be very close.
